IMPORTANT THOUGHT #1
Every lesson we teach is hinged on the next lesson. Don’t skip anything, take the time to embrace everything. We want you to grow, but it only works with your diligent understanding and practice.
IMPORTANT THOUGHT #2
UNDERSTANDING THE GRAPHICS
Teacher Perspective
Guitar graphics have appeared in text in all kinds of ways. The neck to the left, the neck to the right, the 6th string on top, the 6th string on bottom, the neck facing upward.
All these have a certain amount of thought and validity to them. During our writing process a graphic perspective decision needed to be made for consistency. We decided to correct as much of the context from a teacher's perspective, see the two graphics below.
Why did we do this? When I took lessons there was a teacher. The teacher sat across from me, and when I would look at him play, I saw things from this certain perspective. When watching TV or a computer screen, I usually see this perspective (occasionally there was a left-handed player but that was rare). As you view YouTube videos it is usually this perspective. We also included a real guitar neck as much as possible because we felt it was more natural.
Player Perspective
The player perspective may be used occasionally to emphasize a concept. Wherever this applies *Player Perspective will be denoted.
