We need to be able to change the Tempo to match our song. Let's do that now.

When I am getting ready to record a New Session, I never know what the Tempo is. It's frustrating for me to just select numbers and then strum a guitar and try to find a tempo that fits.

The Mighty Solution:

With your mouse, click on the Tempo Value. Now tap on the letter "t" on your computer keyboard. That's right tap out a couple of measures of the Tempo you're feeling. Pro Tools will automatically calculate the Tempo based on your tapping. That's easy, I know the speed, Pro Tools - Do It.
